Jedwards Tech Limited

Governed intelligence for complex software estates.

Helping organisations understand what software they have, how it fits together, why it evolved that way, and how to change it safely.

Understand complexity. Govern change. Unlock value.

“As AI accelerates the pace of change, I help organisations understand, design, govern, modernise and improve increasingly complex software estates by distributing architectural discovery, structure, clarity and discipline across the teams responsible for business and technical direction, engineering, quality, and release, enabling stakeholders to make and own collaborative, evidence-based decisions that unlock value deliberately and sustainably without slowing delivery.”

How can I help?

I am currently open to suitable contract roles and focused consulting engagements where hands-on solution architecture, modernisation, governance, estate discovery or dependency management can create practical value. Alongside contract work, I am developing Jedwards Tech as a founder-led consultancy and continuing to develop the Governed Intelligence proposition.

I help organisations connect business goals with technical direction, then make difficult technology estates understandable enough to change with confidence. Click or hover for more details.

Based in the UK. I work remotely and am available to travel across the UK—and internationally where the engagement calls for it—by agreement.

Thirty minutes to explore the situation.

The exploratory call is for fit and context. We can discuss what you want to achieve, what is making progress difficult and whether I may be able to help. If a deeper review would be useful, we can agree a clear scope, outcomes, timing and fee before any chargeable work begins.

Jeremy Edwards

Jeremy Edwards, founder and principal consultant at Jedwards Tech

I am the founder and principal consultant at Jedwards Tech. I am a hands-on software and solution architect with more than three decades of commercial experience, combining technical depth with the judgement needed to make change practical.

My career has included working in insurance, defence, public services and regulated financial services environments, alongside complex product estates that depend on long-lived applications, integrations, infrastructure and operating practices. I have worked across engineering, technical leadership, solution architecture, cloud and hybrid hosting, security, resilience, continuity and architecture governance.

I am at my best when a team needs to understand what already exists before deciding what to change: finding the dependencies, creating safe seams, establishing useful decision records and helping people move forward without pretending that a rewrite is the only answer.

Selected Case-studies.

A small selection of anonymised case studies showing the progress that becomes possible when a software estate, its dependencies and its integrations are properly understood.

A practical path from understanding to action.

Each stage creates a clearer basis for the next decision. More detailed guidance can grow from these stages over time. Click or hover for more details.

I work closely with stakeholders across executive, product, IT, security, engineering, delivery and operational teams. Using automated tooling, I review, gather, analyse and present a detailed understanding of your software systems that your organisation can retain and use to guide future change.

Straight answers to four useful questions.

What do I do?

I help organisations discover and understand complex software estates so they can make better-informed changes with less cost, risk and uncertainty. By bringing together applications, integrations, data, infrastructure, business needs and the way teams work, I create a clearer picture of how the estate really operates and where improvement, modernisation or stronger governance will create the most value.

What is Governed Intelligence?

Governed Intelligence is a practical process for turning an organisation's fragmented knowledge about its software estate into trustworthy, shared and usable understanding. It connects evidence, architecture, ownership, decisions, change history and current business context so that both people and AI can see not just what appears to be true, but why, where that knowledge came from, how current it is and whether it can be acted on safely.

The goal is not more paperwork or another static repository, but a living digital twin that provides an explainable view of the estate and supports better business and technical decisions without losing accountability, judgement or control.

How does that unlock value?

It makes change quicker, safer and more predictable. When reliable knowledge about the estate is current and readily available, teams spend less time rediscovering context, tracing dependencies or asking the same questions, and more time making decisions and delivering improvements.

Shared evidence allows business, product, technology, security, delivery and operational stakeholders to work from the same understanding, exposing dependencies, risks and trade-offs earlier. This reduces avoidable cost, improves the quality of decisions and makes it easier to modernise deliberately rather than reactively.

How is that understanding built and kept current?

It starts with evidence from the estate itself and from the people who understand it. Applications, integrations, data, infrastructure, documentation, decisions and operational knowledge are brought together to build a digital twin of the software estate, with dependencies, ownership, uncertainty and change made visible.

That understanding is then distributed rather than owned by a small architecture function. Teams contribute knowledge closest to their work, while shared structure, evidence and governance keep the wider picture coherent. As the estate changes, its history and current state remain connected, allowing people and AI to understand not only what exists today, but how it got there, what is changing and what the consequences of further change are likely to be.
